Qualifications:

We are searching for a Registered Nurse for a full time day shift position on our state-of-the-art Heart Failure Clinic.The RN is responsible to the Nursing Director for the delivery of quality patient care utilizing the nursing process. Apply your nursing knowledge derived from education and experience as foundation for patient care, communication, and documentation on the unit.


Position Summary:

Serves as a key contact for TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement) and structural heart and coordinates all valve clinic and conference reviews to assure all criteria met. Also responsible for TAVR /STS database for TAVR cases. Ensures that the patient population served has a safe, high quality, efficient delivery of care throughout the continuum of care. Serves as liaison with physicians, patients/families and financial staff as appropriate. Plan/coordinate and implement patient diagnostic work-up and screening processes for TAVR. Responsible for nursing assessment and educational including documentation of valve clinic patients. Monitors to assure all quality benchmarks or reached with follow up education to staff as indicated. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.


Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Current license as a registered Nurse to practice in the State of South Carolina.
  • BLS-Healthcare provider on hire (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS within six months of hire or transfer

Education:

  • Minimum A.A.S degree from A.M.A. approved Nursing Program
  • BSN Preferred

Experience:

  • Recent experience in cardiovascular related patient population. Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities. Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient/internal and external customer.

Special qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills; both orally and written.
  • Computer skills needed.
  • Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Strong problem solving skills.

Shift:

  • This is a full time day shift position
  • Monday through Friday 0800-1630


Degree of Supervision Required:

Involves general guidance and direction by Department Manager. The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
