Program Manager for Forensic Outreach
Job Description
The Program Manager for Forensic Outreach for the Texas A&M College of Nursing, under direction, plans, organizes, directs and manages the day-to-day activities for SANE(Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) education and other forensic outreach projects. This position develops and implements continuing education (short courses) directly to providers through the state.
Responsibilities:
- Plans organizes, directs and manages day-to-day activities for SANE education and other forensic outreach projects including developing and implementing continuing education courses directly to providers throughout the state.
- Teaches the on-site sexual assault evidence collection skills course at the request of health care facilities.
- Assists with the development and facilitation of simulation continuing education for new and practicing forensic nurses.
- Assists with the delivery of the Texas Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner on-line course.
- Coordinate continuing education courses with the college primary nurse planner for continuing nursing education.
- Collaborate with faculty to develop continuing nursing education course offerings.
- Collaborate across disciplines to develop inter-professional education offerings.
- Interact with participants in education and outreach programs to respond to questions and inquires.
- Participate in the planning of on-site trainings and conferences.
- Maintain supplies necessary for simulation experiences.
- Liaise with the Clinical Learning Resource Center to schedule simulation experiences for Texas SANE Education course and for continuing SANE education.
- Manage participant database.
- Attend and participate in team meetings.
- Prepare and present reports on continuing education programs offered.
- Develop and maintain competency in specialized software platforms maintained by forensic nursing.
- Participate in vendor booths to assist faculty in the recruitment efforts for Forensic Health Care

Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Five years of related experience
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse. SANE-A and SANE-P and/or OAG SANE credentials (CA-SANE and CP-SANE or CA/CP-SANE
Required Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing, and spreadsheet applications
- Verbal and written communication skills
- May require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends
- Travel required
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Five years of clinical experience as a forensic nurse
- Experience working with diverse individuals and communities
