Nurse Practitioner - PRN - Bullhead City, AZ

Kindred Behavioral Health is seeking a passionate, creative and goal-oriented Advance Practice Nurse to join the team at Talas Harbor in Bullhead City, AZ and have an immediate impact on expanding on our success, growing our services and fulfilling our mission of improving the lives of all we touch.

 As an Advance Practice Nurse you will:

• Responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient care to patients showing a change or decline in mental status, chronic or urgent psychiatric conditions.
• Work independently with other members of the medical team, with entitlements to specific clinical privileges approved by the hospital’s Medical Executive Board.
• Take part in an interdisciplinary team that provides psychiatric care to patients.
• Perform patient’s histories and physicals, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to consultations and appointments.
• Prescribe medications following the hospital’s policy, formulary and relevant regulations of the State.
• Consult with physicians on cases that are beyond the scope of qualification of PMHNP.
• Put all relevant patient data in medical records and case presentations.
• Formulate, execute and review healthcare education delivered to patients and families for prevention of decompensation and maintenance of optimal functioning.
• Ensure smooth communication with other health professionals for effective delivering of service to patients.
• Provide consultation to the clinic’s nursing and medical staff for improvement in performance, which enhances overall quality service delivery of the hospital

Qualifications - External

As an Advance Practice Nurse you will have:

Education:

• Master’sDegree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.  Certification from the American Nurse Nurses Credentialing Center

Licenses/Certification:

• Valid state Registered Nurse license.  PMHNP-BC.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of nursing experience in a behavioral health hospital environment.
