In this vital role, you will support our Executive Director, Nursing Practice, Education and Research in managing and elevating our Center for Nursing Excellence and UCLA Health Magnet® programs.  Your expertise and passion will enable us to achieve our organizational goals for nursing excellence and Magnet® designation. As our Magnet® Program Director, you will collaborate with CNOs and Magnet® Program Coordinators as well as frontline nursing and inter-professional colleagues to advance Magnet® designation processes and related performance improvement activities. We’ll look to you as our internal expert on Magnet® standards and requirements and rely on you to lead organizational efforts to engage nurses in the structures and processes needed to achieve and demonstrate nursing excellence.

We’re seeking a strong, creative nursing leader with a current California RN license and:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, one of which must be in nursing, required. Doctorate, preferred
  • Three or more years of formal leadership experience, required
  • Experience Leading Magnet program initiatives, required
  • Nursing Professional Leadership certification (e.g., ANCC, AONL, etc.) preferred
  • Knowledge of Magnet® requirements and elements of nursing excellence and Ability to manage structures and processes     to achieve Magnet designation and system alignment, required
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills along with experience with publication and presentation
  • Computer proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher
  • Ability to inform, educate, motivate and inspire others
