Indiana University School of Optometry, a leader in clinical education, patient care, and research, is seeking a skilled clinician with an interest in ocular surface/anterior segment disease to be responsible for the development of an Ocular Surface Disease service.


Applicants are invited to apply for this clinical rank, non-tenure track position with a proposed start date of summer/fall 2019. The level of rank is open and is commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include administration and growth of the newly formed Ocular Surface Disease service, patient care in areas of ocular surface disease, primary care, and/or contact lenses; educating students in the school’s didactic program and teaching clinics; and promoting IU and its services within the community.


The successful candidate should have an O.D. (or equivalent) degree, be eligible for an Indiana optometric license, and have completed an applicable residency and/or have equivalent clinical experience. Interest and clinical experience in ocular surface disease/dry eye is preferred, but not essential. Candidates also have the opportunity to advance optometry through participation in clinical research.


The School of Optometry has well-established professional degree and clinical programs, as well as widely recognized research and graduate programs. The School has two teaching clinics as well as a variety of externship and residency affiliations. Indiana University has an active commitment to community health and education.
