The Administrative Coordinator is a registered professional nurse who is administratively responsible for the efficient coordination of patient care activities. ACs are responsible for the delivery of safe, customer-focused, efficient care during their shift, in accordance with nationally accepted standards of nursing care and practice, and monitors standards established by the Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies. Responsible to support, teach, encourage all clinical staff, and monitor patient care. Will keep the nursing managers or department directors informed of any issues that need to be resolved.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.\tDirects all nursing staff on assigned shift for all units. Assigns personnel to units including the float pool, companion pool, floating and furlough of staff.2.\tProvides guidance, supervision, direction and assistance to nursing personnel3.\tWorks with staff to resolve problems concerning nursing care issues.4.\tUses proper judgment in controlling cost.5.\tMonitor ED throughput to ensure timely bed placement.6.\tCollaborate with nurse managers and/or charge nurses to assist in bed management.OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.\tInterprets and oversees nursing policy and procedures in the delivery of care.2.\tCounsels employees and initiates disciplinary action as necessary.3.\tDemonstrates leadership ability and management skills.4.\tServes as a role model for nursing employees.5.\tResponds to all emergency situations within the facility including but not limited to the initiation of the Incident Command Center.6.\tPromotes cooperative relationships with other departments.7.\tMonitors global operations to ensure timely delivery of patient care in a cost effective manner that maintains Joint Commission and Department of Health standards.8.\tCommunicates with the Administrator on Call as necessary.9.\tAccountable for improving patient care through adherence to all patient safety and quality standards, regulations, and best practices.10.\tPerforms other duties or projects as assigned by the Manager of Nursing Resources.

Education\n\n•\tGraduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required or in pursuit of\n•\tMaster's degree - preferred\n\nRelated Work Experience\n•\t3-5 years’ experience in a Hospital setting\n•\tMore than 5 years experience preferred\n\n•\tActive Registered Nurse license in the state of New Jersey\n•\tBasic Life Support Certificate for HealthCare providers (BLS)\n•\tAdvanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS) preferred\n•\tPediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS) preferred
