The Palliative Care team at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) / Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) is in search for either a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Masters Physician Assistant for their Palliative Care Advanced Practice Provider (PCAPP) team. The palliative care clinician is responsible for working as a consultant throughout the hospital, visiting patients and families and offering recommendations to the primary medical team. Consultations occur in all acute care settings, including oncology floors, general medical-surgical floors, specialty units, and critical care units. The NP/PA will provide expert symptom management and guide important discussions with patients and families to promote a personalized, comprehensive plan that aligns psychosocial, spiritual, and medical care with patient and family care goals. The NP/PA will participate in daily inter-professional palliative care team meetings and support the interdisciplinary team model of practice by facilitating team cohesion and communication. This position includes regular rotation to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, supporting the inpatient Palliative Care consult service in the same capacity as described above.

Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Masters degree, and certification as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. \n\nNurse practitioners must have Acute Care Certification. \n\nPrior to employment, the PCAPP must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board. \n\nPrior experience in specialty is preferable
