The Emergency Department (ED) at Mercy Medical Center is looking for an Advanced Practitioner (AP) to work full time, three 12 hours rotating shifts per week. Clinical shifts would primarily be in the emergency department at Mercy Medical Center but may also eventually include clinical areas in the Emergency Department (ED) at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and Presbyterian Medical Center (PMC).The AP autonomously coordinates and implements the plan of care for emergency department patients. Common patient presentations in these clinical areas at Mercy Medical Center include the follow: abdominal pain, wound closures, incision and drainage, ob/gyn complaints, orthopedic injuries, skin infections, upper respiratory infections as well as other medical/surgical conditions. The AP works with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes for all patients, and consultation with physician support is always available. The expectation is a rotation of shifts/days and most shifts would be completed at Mercy Medical Center.The AP will provide safe, high quality, comprehensive care to patients in a fast paced and dynamic emergency department that emphasizes patient flow and throughput. The AP will complete focused history and physicals on patients, order medications, order and interpret labs, EKG/telemetry, and other diagnostic studies, as well as coordinate patient care with other disciplines.A successful AP will have strong, independent medical decision making skills, advanced skill in multi-tasking and have the ability to adapt well to changing environments. Nurse Practitioner or Masters prepared Physician Assistant, Pennsylvania License required\n1+ year of CRNP or PA experience preferred in emergency medicine/internal medicine\nBLS/ACLS required
